About Pete
Pete Huy is an Austin-based dancer who began his journey at the end of 2023 here in Austin. Driven by a passion for continuous growth and self-expression, he is drawn to the way dance lets him take on different personas and embody emotions that reflect who we are on the inside. His favorite styles to train in are jazz funk, contemporary, and street styles like hip-hop and waacking. Outside the studio, Pete is an athlete and runner, which fuels the endurance, stamina and athleticism he brings to his dancing. In 2025, he trained with Aaron Medina at a Houston intensive focused on performance quality, femme movement, jazz funk and confidence, an experience that helped him discover his voice as a dancer.
Pete deeply values community and has danced with several Austin teams, including Fine Lines, Fundies, Psych! Dance Collective, GR-OCHO and WaackATX. He performed in his first professional show with Early Era Collective in their 2026 Black History Month show, Say That Again!, and has performed multiple times at World of Dance. He has also performed as a backup dancer for local singer and artist Leo Von Sol, with appearances at SXSW and Austin Pride. Pete hopes to keep growing and developing as a dancer, performer and artist.
